My Wife and I were praying about beginning a house church over a period of several years. We had

several people give us encouraging words saying we should start a church. As we began praying we felt God

saying we should look for a place to start. God pointed us to the community of New Berlin. We feel Him

saying we should never own a building so our focus is on Him and what He would have us do in the community

and not on the building.

      Several pastors began praying for the people in the community and the surrounding area to be open to

the Holy Spirit. We feel the spirit of revival in the area and we want to be ready for the harvest. The name Son

Mountain Fellowship came about from several people giving suggestions to possible names, and it came from

mixing the suggestions through prayer and meditation. Son is for Jesus, Mountain, we like to be with Jesus on

the mountain top, to experiences closeness with him. Fellowship because Jesus wants us to have fellowship not

just with Him, but with each other. We, God's children are to learn to love one another.

     We believed at the beginning we would start in the New Berlin Community Center, the first couple of

Sundays were booked and God lead us to the Youth Center on the new Berlin Mountain Highway. Everyone

and anyone is welcome to join us. It is about building a relationship with Jesus Christ and a relationship with

fellow believers here and other denominations. Remembering it's all about Jesus.

 

     First of all church is not a building of brick and mortar that is put together by man. The church is made

up of every individual believer, the church is the people. Each and every person God created uniquely, it takes

each person with their God given gift to make up the church. The church works best when individuals work

together for God's glory. Jesus teaches us whatever we do, do it as though we are doing it directly for Him.

Jesus says any time two or three are gathered in His name, church is happening. Church can happen any

day of the week, any time of the day, where we gather together in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

     Sunday worship is about just that, WORSHIP. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines worship as; the

act of showing respect and love for a god especially by praying with other people who believe in the same God;

the act of worshipping God or a god. In the case of Son Mountain Fellowship it is God Almighty who created

the heavens and the earth and everything in them, including you and me. We worship God through prayer,
